And the mysterious something that remains in hiding until you walk deep into the empty map. There are no dreadful monsters, no heart-stopping screamers. Just this escalating feeling of unease and threat. Ready to face the unknown and test your nerves in a spooky retro shooter where there is noone to shoot? Then put the game into your console and set out to explore an eerie location with echoes of long-bygone battles in the thrilling horror No Players Online with Multuplayer!
The introduction brings us into a modern-day setting, with the main hero sitting at his desk (we don’t really see him, because it’s first person) when a strange cassette appears in front of him out of nowhere. After clicking on it, you’ll see a promotion of a competitive shooter from the 00’s inviting you to check out premium servers for free skins and mods. You follow the link, just out of curiosity, and discover that most of them are already dead. But not all. Some are still running. You wonder if somebody is actually playing this dusty game these days. It doesn’t take you long to join one of the matches and you find yourself amidst a huge open map with the other team’s flag wavering on the opposite side of the field. You are divided just by a few obstructions. But your first reflex to rush for the flag drowns in the understanding that you’re the only person here. There is noone else, not a single soul. You are alone on an empty server.
So, what now? The game doesn’t give you any clues. It keeps pushing on you with complete stillness. Nothing happens. You wait some more time and naturally start walking around. Your footsteps are the only sound you hear. You head for the group of buildings thinking that maybe the opposing team is watching you from there and will open fire when you approach. But there is still no action. Just bare walls and empty corridors. Without being thwarted and pursued by anyone, hardly even seen and heard, you proceed to the enemy’s flag looming on the horizon. You decide to snatch if if it’s unprotected and free for grabs. But when you do, things change… Launch No Players Online, find out what happens next and how this strange game that hasn’t even begun properly ends for you, its only player! Or not?..
